Hello again my lovelies :)
Another mini haul today, but this time its a Boots/TKMaxx Haul.
I went to boots today with the intention of getting just a lighter coloured lasting perfection........ Ooooops!! (You know how it is)
So I hovered around the make-up aisles for a while and picked up the lasting perfection which I needed. You all know all you need to about the lasting perfection. Basically there is no other drugstore/highstreet brand that beats it! Its great coverage for under eyes and blemishes, lasts all day and lasts for a pretty long time! Win win!
I've been going through a phase of using pencil eyeliners recently but when i'm at uni for 10 hours a day, the pencils just don't cut it i'm afraid. I fished out my trusty felt tip liner and reminisced about how much I actually love this item. Now I wouldn't say it stays on for 24 hours, barely even 12 to be honest (who wears eyeliner for 24 hours really?) but, it's only small and fits in my travel make-up bag perfectly if I want to touch up throughout the day! I hear many people rave about the soap & glory version of this and to be honest this has always been good enough for me so I haven't tried it. Is it any better?
The new Maybelline Volume Express Rocket Volume mascara (what a mouthful) was on an introductory promotion offer for just £5.99. It really caught my eye on the end of almost every aisle so after making my way up and down a few times I decided to pick one up and try it! The brush is plastic/rubber and has many bristles which is the kind I usually prefer. I haven't tried many of Maybellines mascara but hopefully there will be a review soon!
Finally after wandering aimlessly through boots for a while I nipped into TKMaxx to see what different one off items they had in. I got SOOOO excited when I saw the it's a 10 miracle leave-in product. I first read about this on Fleurs blog which I'm sure you're all familiar with and she absolutely swears by it. I have a nightmare trying to comb through my hair after a shower so if this works as well as it has for others I will be one happy happy bean!
So that's todays little haul! I'm hoping there's a gem in my purchases :D
Hope you enjoy
Todays post is a small haul (poet & I don't even know it) from The Body Shop.
May I first say that I'm very rapidly becoming a body shop junkie! In the past year I've found my HG shower gel here and have tried & tested many other products of theirs that I LOVE, such as the tea tree pore reducing primer, seaweed toner and their indulgent hand creams. (I'm thinking I should do a body shop favourites post) What do you think? :)
One thing I absolutely adore about The Body Shop is their jaw-droppingly outstanding sales! They are soooo difficult to resist that I pretty much give in to temptation every time, there are many products that I still want to try. The most recent is their 40% off everything including sale items. WOW right?
http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk (it's still on now if you get there quick!)
So onto my purchases..... (All these images have been taken with my new camera which I am very excited about)
My regular readers will probably know about my love for The Body Shops limited edition Spiced Pumpkin shower gel (HG) but as much as it pains me to say it (little cry) it has been discontinued!!! So when they brought out the Ginger Sparkle range at christmas it made me really giddy and I hoped it would fill a gap... You'll be pleased to know it has done exactly that! I now own just about every product in this range. The smell is absolutely delicious, spicy and sweet and it indeed resembles gingerbread covered with oodles of icing! Pleeeeease DO NOT discontinue these items at christmas I beg you!!!! I think they make my year :)
I bought a friend of mine the Rainforest Moisture range for christmas and they absolutely love it! Even I can tell a difference since they've been using this shampoo, that's how amazing it has worked for them. I just had to try it out for myself and used this great opportunity to purchase some! This shampoo and hair butter is paraben, sulphate, colourant and silicone free so believe me your hair will thank you for it. I can't wait to try this. Fingers crossed it works as well for me as it has done others.
Now I'm off in the shower to use ALL of my lovely new products and smother myself in yummy yummy scented body butter!
Let me know if you would like to see a Body Shop favourites post.... and don't miss this amazing sale!
Hope you enjoy
Over the next few weeks I'm going to try and do some reviews on things that were bought for me at christmas! Thought it would be a great way to show you some of the lovely gifts I got & maybe also some that I haven't loved so much....
Up first is........
I've heard soooooo many bloggers rave about the O.P.I nail envy nail strengthener but as much as I try to avoid being a sheep this was bought for me so I'm adding to the hype!
I always use some type of nail treatment as a base coat, I've been using the avon gold strength for quite a while but have been testing this since I got it for christmas. I must admit that I never really notice a difference with these products because I assume that naturally my nails are pretty rock solid. Either that or whatever I have been using previously has worked. BUT........ with this I must say there was a noticeable difference. When I'd had it on for a couple of weeks under various other nail polishes and then removed it my nails were literally ROCK HARD (like, you cannot bend them at all) I'd go as far to say that it would be quite a challenge to break one (not that I'm going to try).
The consistency is quite runny when you apply it so try to scrape a little bit off the brush beforehand or you'll end up with it all over your fingers. It also does take a few minutes to dry so if you use it as a base coat like me then I would advise leaving your nails a while to ensure its dry before applying a colour. I have experienced quite a bit of streaking over the past couple of weeks when using this so I need to investigate further into whether it is this causing it or the polishes I'm using :( maybe I'll try applying a base coat over the top of this as well.
I'll be totally honest, I highly doubt I would pay £18.75 when my avon gold strength seems to be good enough for me, however I would recommend it for those who have particularly soft nails and need something extra strength to give them a boost. For someone who already has pretty strong nails although you may notice a difference is it really worth all that money? I'm not so sure....
Let me know what you think???
Have you tried it before???
Hope you enjoy
Apologies again for my lack of posting! As previously mentioned I've become a workaholic!!!
These might be ever so slightly delayed (oooops) but without further ado these are my New Year nails!!
They were pretty rushed so the numbers aren't great (imagine what my right hand looked like haha) but you get the general idea :)
Below is a gift I received for christmas from my partners Grandma (how amazing is she!) (apologies to those of you with grandmas who buy you unfashionable items and reindeer jumpers hehehe)
The colours in this skyfall set are really really nice, right up my street! I particularly LOVE the glittery black polish which isn't too visible in this picture but I cannot wait to use it and then you'll be able to get a better view :)
The glitter polish is very similar to a Models own in Ibiza mix (is it? I'm not 100% sure) which might be more affordable if you like this and don't want to splash out too much. Very very similar!
The red I used for these nails does take a few coats and I found that when I brushed over it wasn't very even and brushed off some of the other polish leaving clear streaks, although this might be what I put on underneath I'm not 100% sure, so apologies if it is just me and my choice of base coat. They do stay chip free for quite a long time and look great and glossy!
Hope you enjoy
Helloooo :)
So sorry I've not been doing too many nail posts. Christmas was super busy and I was pretty pre-occupied as I'm sure you can imagine.
Here is a nail look I was rocking over the christmas period...
I was testing out the lovely models own polishes I got from Clothes Show Live!
The finished product! Voilaaaaaa!
The snowflakes are nail art stickers I bought from eBay for about £1. You know I LOVE a bargain.
My apologies for the image being a bit crappy. The lighting quality wasn't great so it's the best I could do at the time!
Hope you enjoy
Hello people :)
This is my first ever guest post on the lovely Jo's blog & it will be a few of my current skincare favourites... Head over to her blog to read the full post.... Click HERE
Today's post is something a little different but of something I would really love to share with my readers who may be interested. If you're anything like me (a hopeless romantic that enjoys reading) then I think this might appeal to you :)
For christmas I received the new Kindle Paper white which has encouraged me to start reading again. I love reading a good book and being sucked in by the characters (suckerrrr) which is why I want to mention this particular book.
I'm a complete hopeless romantic (yes it's quite pathetic) but in reality men aren't really that romantic are they? So my solution to needing this fix is by reading a soppy romantic novel and this one fits the bill perfectly. Its such an easy read and grabbed me from start to finish. Its the first book I read on my kindle to see how I'd get on with in & let me tell you... WOW. The fact that I can read at night with the new kindle has been quite a problem, I could not put this down and read it in about 3 days, oooops!
It's a story of two childhood friends who have both had difficult upbringings and found comfort in each other amongst it all. But when their friendship has the possibility of becoming more it proves difficult for one of them who flees and covers up her past to make her life easier. Its so so so sweet & is most certainly worth a read.
Next in line is another romantic novel by the same author Jessica Sorenson
Hope you enjoyed this post :)
