Over the past week I've bought a number of things which i though i'd share.... I'm starting a masters in September which is why i'm buying winter clothes early while i can still afford it.
This cable knit jumper from H&M is so nice, i chose it because its got different colour sparkly wool in it :D
I'd purchased an ear cuff a while ago and it was too big for my little ears (sad face) so hopefully this one will do the job!
I'd had my eye on these for a while and finally decided to try one on. Loved it that much that i decided to buy two different colours. They also have these in blue and beige. Bargain at £12 i think.
I've seen so many bloggers raving about herbal essences repair masques, so i've decided to give one a go since they're so cheap.
Dirty works is available in Sainsbury's. The obvious reason i was attracted to it is that its a replica of soap & glory which i LOVE. This is a copy of soap & glory's calm one calm all bubble bath and i must say it smells very much the same at a fraction of the price. I paid £3 for this.
As i'm not a lover of jeans these cords took my fancy. They are so comfy and a nice change to jeans.
I'm in love with all this ombre at the moment. Hair, nails, clothes you name it which is why i grabbed this. Its also available in yellow.
As a lover of topshop cosmetics the new range of Louise Gray items excited me A LOT! cannot wait to put this baby on my nails. The cute mirror was a nice little added bonus regardless of the 5 minute blonde moment me and my mum had working out how to open it HAHA (embarassing).
One thing i haven't shared with my followers yet is my unhealthy obsession with Lush. LOVE LOVE LOVE lush. I had quite a large stash but recently ran out of my fave bubble bar (the comforter) having withdrawal symptoms i went into lush to buy another one but they had sold out (cryyyyyyy- obviously others love it as much as me) Instead i purchased 2 of my next fave creamy candy.
I wanted a speedy alternative to using a hot cloth cleanser every night when i haven't got the energy which is why i bought Avene micellar lotion. Its not great at removing makeup but if i use a couple of baby wipes first it does the job a lot better and hasn't made me break out.
LOVE the tangle teezer. Nuff said!
Saw a couple of bloggers mention this cleanser and as i'm a lover of hot cloth cleansers and natural products i thought i'd give this a go. Can't wait to try it.
Hello Peeps :)
You can probably guess what this post is going to be about from the title. Kinda gives it away doesn't it? Uneven skin tone is something that I suffer with & have done for as long as I can remember, I also have a freckle face which makes it look worse than it is (thanks mum). Only recently have I decided that I've had enough & want to do something to try and combat it!!!! Grrrrrr! After much research (google is such a wonderful place) & spending of my monies I have a new skincare routine specially designed to fight of this problem that's been irritating me for SO long!
I will try and go in some form of logical order from morning to night....
First up....
I have ridiculous dark circles round my eyes which I've discovered can lead to a whole world of things from dehydration to lack of sleep to sun damage etc etc. A good way to try and reduce these circles is to drink lots of water and use a good refreshing/hydrating eye cream.
This eye roll-on claims to "target the appearance of dark circles and puffiness". Now the reason I chose this one in particular is because A. Boots Botanics range are natural products and I don't particularly like the idea of putting chemicals under my eyes. And. B. It contains natural AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids) which exfoliate the skin leaving it smoother & brighter. A key ingredient to better skin tone.
I will report back on this product at a later date when I have given it a sufficient trial but so far I am enjoying using it as it wakes my eyes up in a morning.
Onto the next step...
Again I've gone for a product which contains AHA's & BHA's (beta hydroxy acids) to unclog my pores and reveal brighter, smoother looking skin. This product is aimed at oily, blemish prone skin but does state that its Avene Thermal Spring Water reduces any risk of irritation. It does sting slightly when you first apply it but it is working as a great base for my make-up as it instantly removes shine from my face and keeps it oil free. Again I'll be reporting back after longer usage.
3rd & I think most importantly...
The reason I'm opting to use this particular make-up base at the moment is that it contains SPF15. The two previous products I mentioned contain AHA's & BHA's that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun, so it is really important to wear an SPF in conjunction with these products. Better to be safe than sorry I always say :)
In the evening after taking off my make-up....
I use either one of these facial exfoliators to remove dead skin from the surface of my face, resulting in brighter, clearer skin. This is the number one tip for fighting uneven skin tone. Regenerating the skin!!
I love both of these facial scrubs.
Before bed I apply....
Yes I am well aware that this is an Anti-Wrinkle cream and I am only 22 years of age but bare with me...
The reason behind this is that a key ingredient for targeting uneven skin tone is Vitamin A. Vitamin A in it's purest form cannot be used in skin creams as it is too strong, but Vitamin A can like many other ingredients be 'diluted' shall we say & this in effect creates Retinol. I searched for daaaaaays for a moisturiser, serum or treatment that contained Retinol but I was unsuccessful as the only products really containing this were Anti-Aging creams. Eventually I thought what the hell? and bought one anyway (I suppose you can never start too early).
Already I have noticed visible changes in my skin. It appears much firmer, smoother, hydrated and..... wait for it..... EVEN! YESSSSSS!! I just hope that these results are consistent and it's not just coincidence. One of my closest friends made a comment about how much more radiant my skin was looking so I told her my secret and she couldn't believe it. But ssssshhhh!
This cream has a 28 day skin test on the box so that you can see results but I'm starting to see them already. I'll stick at it for the 28 days and more than likely longer :) Happy Katieeee.
Last but not least..
My trusty Sudocrem. I only recently started using this again & I wonder why I ever pushed it to the back of my cupboard. It's a wonder cream. Once a week I apply it all over my face before bed & the next morning my skin is far more radiant than before, and it's also great for fighting spots.
I recommend everyone to try it as it's so cheap & might just work for you!
So there we have it. my new skincare routine to fight uneven skin tone. In about a months time I will report my findings and hopefully my skin will have had a miraculous turnaround (or maybe will just be slightly better)
Are there any other products that you would recommend I try?
Thanks for reading, Hope you enjoy.
Went out for a meal this saturday night for a friends 21st. Wasn't feeling 100% so wanted to wear something comfortable but pretty :) Sorry the picture isn't the best quality, i'd forgotten to take my camera out with me so had to make do with the trusty iPhone and my boyfriends photography skills haha.

Hellooooo. Sorry i haven't posted for a week or so, had a few nail disasters last week. I planned to blog a NOTW on friday but instead decided to tip nail glue all over myself. FYI not a good idea! The stuff is basically superglue, my legs and hands were momentarily stuck together. Aaaaaggghhh!!
So this week i've seen so many different Aztec designs and couldn't decide on one to attempt, so i've taken ideas from a few and created my own. I hope you like them.
Here are the polishes and nail tools i used.
Sinful- Metallic Glow Top Coat.
FCUK- (doesn't tell me what colour, got this one in a set at christmas) Grey.
H&M- U Must Have This
OPI Mini's- Both from the Nicki Minaj Collection.
Dotting Tools- Pack of 6 bought from eBay.
Nails Art Brushes- Pack of 10 bought from eBay.
If anyones interested in where i bought all my nail tools then let me know and i can add the eBay link. I buy pretty much all of my nail tools on eBay as they are just sooooo cheap. I think i paid 99p for the dotting tools from Hong Kong and the Nail Art Brushes were about £2.50. You know i LOVE a bargain! Still waiting for my nail stamper kit so i can start experimenting with that. Eeeeeeek.
